Not just a one day event, I'm blogging every day about what I'm thankful for

Coincidentally, day 5 is Cinco de Mayo 🙂

Beach plans thwarted by the windy conditions. Didn’t want to get sandblasted again. Disappointed to not get my toes in sand and listen to the surf. But I still got sun poolside. Maybe a bit too much. But I turn pink into brown pretty easily.

Margaritas in a little Mexican bar/restaurant. Drinks were strong. Bartender was awesome. We each tipped him so his tip was considerably more than the drinks were. Food was okay, but after the margaritas, it didn’t even matter. I ate about one fourth of the grilled chicken breast with retried beans. No chess and only one tortilla so I stuck with my diet plans pretty good. Except for the margarita. But, hey, cinco de mayo only comes once a year.

I finished reading Life After Life last night (see my review on goodreads) and started State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. I’m half way through and it is really good. I’m sure I will finish it in the morning. Then I get to have fun deciding what to read next. Tomorrow I’m on my own. It will be time by the pool and reading and relaxing.

I do love vacation…even with all the frustrations and disappointments. So thankful that I can vacation like I do. I have already looked at airfare for my next vacation for hopefully at the end of August.

  1. I’m so jealous that you got margaritas. You’re vacation is setting a very high standard of fun for the rest of us. 😉

    • Trust me when I say, I’ve had vacations that have been a lot more fun. But weather can be unpredictable. If I make this other trip in August, you should probably be more jealous of that one. There will be lots of drinking, lots of laughing, lots of sunbathing and beaching. And by then I shouldn’t feel (or look) like a beached whale when I’m laying on the beach with my pretty drinks!

  2. I am going to have to try retried beans lol. I can tell you may have had a margarita, no? I am so sorry your weather has been crap! Crap crap crap! going to check out your review now.

  3. I thought it was a Margarita writing

  4. LOL…I’m laughing at the autocorrect…I too thought it was “margarita writing!” It sounds like you are having a wonderful time! Hopefully, no more sandblasting for the rest of your stay.
