Not just a one day event, I'm blogging every day about what I'm thankful for

What a gorgeous fall day we had today. It was 79 degrees and sunny. Clear blue skies. Definitely a gift this time of year.

I had every intention of sleeping in. Surely I could sleep until at least 7, right? Nope. Wide awake at 5:30. I guess my body had been conditioned from my early days this week. Got to my dad’s house about 9:30. The old lady across the street was having her house auctioned off. Lots of activity and my dad didn’t want to miss any of it. I floated in and out if the auction all day. Really nothing I was interested in (or just had to have). Stood most of the day.

We had taken the truck so we could haul these cupboards home that dad gave Warren for the garage. There was no way to back in the drive with the way cars parked. They took one load home and while I was waiting for Warren to get back, some old lady tried to park in front of the house. She obviously had trouble with space judgment since she parked her car over halfway across the drive. We told asked her to move. She said, “oh, am I in the way?” Sheesh, no really, lady, we were hoping someone would park across the driveway. I finally took a chair out by the curb to block anyone parking there again. Oh, and when she moved, she went to the corner and parked halfway across the street. I’m staying away from her in a parking lot!

Anyway, it was a great day for their sale. I had fun…my cousin was there. Haven’t seen him in ages. Learned he just had a stint put in. Luckily they caught it before he had a heart attack. He was always a special cousin. He escorted me to something when we were in high school when a date bailed on me at the last minute. It was good to catch up with him.

Good to spend time with my dad. And always fun to chase old ladies away 😉

But I’m most thankful for the glorious fall weather.

  1. Great to hear the day was good! There are far too many licensed drivers that should not have that license. The drivers in Vegas… More morons per mile than anywhere I have ever seen in this life. Hope the headache went away. 😉
