Not just a one day event, I'm blogging every day about what I'm thankful for

We had our Gal Pals lunch today. And yes, that’s what we call it. It is two other ladies and myself and our adopted male Pal.

We have loads of fun, lots of laughter and just a generally good time together. It has become tradition that my friend Bonnie and I find the goofiest gift we can for Mick. Last year we found a nutcracker ornament and a can of mixed nuts, which we aptly renamed with a new label Mick’s Nuts.

We started looking for something this year and had no clue how we could top last year. So, we headed to the dollar store to look around. We just couldn’t find the right thing. But then…I saw the cutest snowman candle holder. He was cute because he was defective. His head was upside down. We laughed and laughed and laughed. We decided it was perfect. Plus the cashier sold it to us for only $2.50. Perfect for a gag gift. We joked that we would tell him that we made him while we were enjoying some holiday cheer! I wrote a little poem to illustrate.

A couple of craft gals
Gathered round with their brew
To create the perfect snowman
Put together with glue

First the body of Frosty
They didn’t forget the carrot nose
A scarf around his neck
Is that enough clothes?

A sip here and a sip there
Glue, ribbon, and snowballs
The finished sculpture
Of one of their favorite pals

We had lots and lots of laughter today. I’m thankful for my goofy friends who don’t mind acting silly.
