Thanksgiving Project – Day 5

Coincidentally, day 5 is Cinco de Mayo 🙂

Beach plans thwarted by the windy conditions. Didn’t want to get sandblasted again. Disappointed to not get my toes in sand and listen to the surf. But I still got sun poolside. Maybe a bit too much. But I turn pink into brown pretty easily.

Margaritas in a little Mexican bar/restaurant. Drinks were strong. Bartender was awesome. We each tipped him so his tip was considerably more than the drinks were. Food was okay, but after the margaritas, it didn’t even matter. I ate about one fourth of the grilled chicken breast with retried beans. No chess and only one tortilla so I stuck with my diet plans pretty good. Except for the margarita. But, hey, cinco de mayo only comes once a year.

I finished reading Life After Life last night (see my review on goodreads) and started State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. I’m half way through and it is really good. I’m sure I will finish it in the morning. Then I get to have fun deciding what to read next. Tomorrow I’m on my own. It will be time by the pool and reading and relaxing.

I do love vacation…even with all the frustrations and disappointments. So thankful that I can vacation like I do. I have already looked at airfare for my next vacation for hopefully at the end of August.
