Back to work – Finally

It took over five hours, but the driveway is drive able. Yay! And our travel restrictions have been modified. That means we can be on the road now without fear of getting a ticket/fine. But it also means we are encouraged to only drive to and from work and for emergencies.

Going to work is an emergency right now. I have so much to get done before I leave on Friday. Things are still being canceled. Schools still out. I am not convinced schools will even be back on Thursday. Roads are quite slick. The chemicals used to treat the roads won’t work at these temps. It did get up to 3 degrees tonight though. And tomorrow it will hit 15-20. Of course there is a chance for snow overnight, but only another inch. Hopefully that won’t happen at all.

But I’m thankful that I can get back to work. I’m thankful I can get dressed like a real human being. I’m thankful I can have some new scenery. I love my house, but too much of a good thing is still too much.

Weather Update

I think we have had somewhere around 7″ so far. We are under a travel warning – that means no travel. And, indeed, we haven’t see anybody out. Warren is cleaning the driveway for the second time. It truly is beautiful out. But visibility is minimal with the heavy snow. Winds really haven’t started yet. But I’m not ignoring anything they say anymore.

I continue to be thankful that we still have power. And my dad has power. And I’m thankful he was smart enough to stay in today.

I’m thankful that tomorrow is a snow day. I doubt anything will be moving by then. Schools, including universities, are closed.
