Thanksgiving Project – Deck the Halls

WooHoo! It is the weekend!

This has not been a particularly easy week for me. I really did accomplish a lot at work, but there is still that huge project hanging over my head. My plan is to work on it some this weekend. Just some work stress…and some personal stress. But, hey, it’s the weekend.

Of course, it was fairly nice all day today…cloudy, but the sun peaked through frequently. I left work and on the way home it started sprinkling. Just my luck.

But lucky for me, I have a second deck that is covered so I can still sit outside. Here are pictures I took last night of my view from it.

I can’t really see the road…no one can see me…that makes me happy.

Here is the view from the driveway looking at where I am.

You can see how blessed I am. Those are all trees we planted from seedlings about eight years ago. I’m thankful we planted those trees. Plus, when it rains I can still be outside.

P.S. In case you haven’t picked up on it by now, I dearly love summer and sitting outside 🙂

Thanksgiving Project – Lazy Days of Summer

I worked my tail off today. Got lots of little odds and ends cleaned up. Still have to finish up on a major project. It is so daunting that I just don’t want to start it. I don’t typically procrastinate, but on this I’m definitely procrastinating.

I worked all day thinking today was Friday and I would have the weekend starting as soon as I left work tonight. Imagine my disappointment when I realized it was only Thursday. But at least now I still have Friday night to look forward to.

And tonight I have the evening home alone. I’m enjoying the birds singing while I eat my dinner on the deck. I have a peaceful night (no gunfire tonight!). I’m sitting here looking at all the blooms on my strawberries in the garden (last year the deer and the rabbits got everything). It won’t be long until the trees fill in completely and I won’t be able to see the neighbor’s house.

Here is my view tonight. Wish I could share the lovely nature sounds. The frogs will join the chorus later I’m sure.

I’m not just thankful right now. I’m content…and I think that’s a very good thing.
