Thanksgiving Project – Morning Has Broken
You know when I started this blog back in November (oh my gosh it’s been over six months already!), I was really good at starting my day with at least one thing I was thankful for.
Then life got in the way. Then I started spending more of my time reading what all you wonderful writers were writing about. Then I began interacting with you. Then it got later and later in the day when I actually wrote something.
But except for a few days when I was out of the country without Internet access, I’ve managed to get something posted every day. It may be later in the day but it actually is a great way to end my day.
Today though I’m so blessed. My morning started about 5:45 with birdsong. They can be a little loud and obnoxious when you want to sleep sometimes. I didn’t need to get up until 7 so today was one of those noisy mornings. I tried pulling the covers over my head to shut out the light and the noise. That didn’t help.
I’m so glad. If those noisy birds hadn’t kept me awake, I would have missed a beautiful sunrise. God truly blessed me this morning with a yellow ball surrounded by pinks, oranges, and blues. It was breathtaking. Of course I should have gotten a picture, but I was busy just enjoying the calm.
Now, if I can just figure out those noisy birds. Or if they would only sing and chatter on the mornings I need to be up early…like tomorrow. And be quiet on the days I can sleep a little longer…like the weekends.
